How Can I Protect my Property from Fraud?!?
Property fraud is happening — and protecting your property can start with two simple steps.
Deed fraud is a growing threat in Southern Arizona. Scammers may target vacant properties, out-of-state or absentee owners, and inherited or infrequently monitored properties.
The good news: Pima County offers FREE Property Fraud Alerts through Fraud Notify. These alerts can notify you when documents are recorded in your name, giving you an opportunity to respond quickly if something looks suspicious.
Here are three simple ways to help protect yourself:
1. Enroll in Fraud Notify
Receive free alerts when documents are recorded in your name.
2. Monitor your property records
Review your records regularly to make sure everything is accurate and up to date.
3. Act immediately
If you notice suspicious activity, contact the Arizona Attorney General’s Office right away at 602-542-8888.
